Moved to Germany

Another big life event. Guess your early 20's are full of 'em.

It's been a long time in the making, months of planning and paperwork, but I've finally joined my husband in Germany. He's here for work and it was just too incredible a journey to pass up!

We live in a spacious two bedroom apartment with a view of the forest on one side, in an ity-bity town in the state of Bavaria. The local bakery is to-die-for and it snows just about every day. The only similarity to the US is that Germans drive on the same side of the road as we do (makes that transition MUCH easier).

Moving again of course means that I'm looking for work again, and for somewhere to volunteer or take classes or any of those things people do to pass the time. Because of my location and US citizenship, I'm restricted to USAJOBS as my main path to employment. If you've ever used their website, you know it's not user friendly. The feedback system is almost non-existent, as in you have no idea if your resume has been reviewed, accepted, denied, nothing, and many companies don't list contact information. It's a bit of a pickle.

But here's hoping!

Luckily I've got a bit of time, and meanwhile I'll be enjoying the sites and sounds of this new country.
