This Winter I had the incredible opportunity to visit friends in Europe, experience new cultures, and see some of history’s most famous monuments. I spent several days in Britain and France each, and a short day in Ireland.
My travels in Britain brought me to Liverpool, Manchester, Lincolnshire, and Newcastle. I touched a castle and went into a book store built in 1211, the oldest thing I’d ever seen in person. In France I visited the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Ark de Triumph, and the Louvre museum. It would be easy to spend endless days in the Louvre, there is so much to see, but my highlights were the Venus de Milo, Mona Lisa, and La Victorie de Samothrace. There is no experience quite like it.
Not that it would take any convincing, but I highly encourage anyone who can swing it (either through school, an internship, or working) to travel outside of the US. There is just nothing like it, no words exist to describe the feeling.
