My Weekly Progress

Two weeks ago I created an Instagram account for Toyon, so I have been talking to a couple of classmates about some really great ideas they have for the direction this account should go. In my opinion, since the Toyon social media sites represent the entire magazine, the more input the sites get from various staff members, the more accurately it will represent our collective vision.

I’ve also had a chance to promote a presentation by novelist and memoirist Reyna Grande, the author of three critically acclaimed books about immigrating from Mexico, and a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. And to promote a Paths to Publishing Workshop by best selling author and HSU alumna Kristin Miller, who has published 15 novels in contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and paranormal romance.

On Friday I will begin the Featured Fridays series I have been working on, which will showcase staff members and their work. Once I begin these Featured Fridays posts I will also revamp the Toyon Twitter, as I have been focusing on the Facebook and Instagram so far.
