The Toyon Literary Magazine highlights the work of Humboldt State University students and submitters around the world. It provides a space for students to become a part of the behind-the-scenes workings of a Lit Mag and gives them real world experiences. Students get to work in one or more of the submission areas including fiction, nonfiction, literary criticism, translation from any language, art, spoken word, video/audio, and environmental justice. They also gain submission review and editing experience.
Each volume of the Toyon serves as a time capsule for it’s publication year and presents the ideas and values of the featured authors and editors who worked together to make the publication possible.
