My Weekly Progress

This week I did a bit of research into the most popular social media sites. The highest ranked sites among people ages 15 to 35 were Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn and among the younger end of that crowd Instagram and Snapchat were also extremely popular. Close runners-up included Pinterest, YouTube, and Google+.

The statistics vary among age groups and the types of apps you are interested in (as well as whether or not you group connected apps like Facebook and Facebook Messenger together), but I feel that Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have the best chances of reaching Toyon’s intended audience due to the form of posting they utilize and their popularity.

Toyon currently has a Facebook, Twitter, and Flikr, but I will need to create an Instagram account and likely abandon the Flikr.
